Kiri, Flower Basket Shawl

I pulled Kiri off of the needle, so I could get an idea just how big the shawl was getting. I'm twenty rows past the pattern's called for point to start edge rows. I'll have to think about how many more row repeats I want to add before starting the edging. I've still got a fair amount of yarn left on the ball pictured, as well as another unwound 850 yards.

In the meantime, I went ahead and started the Flower Basket shawl:

This is some of the Mango yarn I ordered tons of from Handpainted Yarns. Four of the five hanks were all the same, but this poor little hank had way more of the lighter tones than the others.

I have a lot of lace on the needles. That's a good thing, because-- eventually, stuff does get finished!

A question for all of you-- Who here has tried the Addi Lace needles? I really like the Knit Picks ones, but after reading all the rave reviews on the Addis, I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to spend the money for them. I knit most of my lace on either size 5 or 7 needles, so it's not like I'd need a big variety of sizes. What I would require is more than one needle in the same size.

Kiri, on the needles again!

After all the talk around here about Kiri, I've decided to start another one, in my sunny yellow yarn from Handpainted Yarn.

Kiri is such an easy knit. One you memorize the row repeats, you don't even need to check the instructions on each active row. You knit. You knit some more. You take the knitting with you everywhere, and the next thing you know-- you're doing the edging rows!
I'm doing my Kiri larger than the 880 yards of yarn Polly used in her original pattern. I plan to use at least 1200, maybe even going so far as using 1760 yards.
In other lace news, I still have the Spiral Cap Shawl from Victorian Lace Today OTN. After finishing the Feather and Fan shawl, I'm not interested in another round shawl right now. They are fun to knit, and a chore to block.
I also have more yarn on the way from Knit Picks. I've had the Adamas Shawl pattern from them for over a year, and I have yet to knit it. It's created the same way as the Kiri shawl--you cast on five stitches, then start the increase process, set aside the stitches for the center rib and the edges, and you knit diamonds.
What's my favorite thing about the triangular shawl? You can make it as big or as small as you want, without a lot of fanfare!

Feather and Fan scarf

Here we have a finished Feather and Fan scarf/stole. It's about 72 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide. The yarn is Knit Picks' Alpaca Cloud in Mist.

This is the same pattern I'm using for my grey alpaca scarf/stole. I plan for my current one to be about 23 inches across, once blocked to size.

My close friends all want one of these, in this same stitch. I'm thinking I will be spending the rest of 2007, knitting these for my friends.
