New Shawl

I finished this FOREVER ago but i couldnt find my damn cord to me Digi Cam so without further ado...My Icarus!

And so you all knowo this is going up for raffle to raise money for a charity bike ride that im doing this june. the ride is 555 miles long, San Fran to L.A and all the money goes to HIV/AIDS research! FO - My Sanity

I have been a very big fan of Evelyn A. Clark who, is the inspiration behind this shawl, and I am sure, for many more shawls to come.

Yarn: Zephyr's silk/wool in color "Iris".
Size: 165cm x 72cm

I have been working on a project in England since early October, 2007, only get to come home for a week or two, every 5 to 6 weeks, and so I knit to unwind. Knitting this shawl has saved my sanity in numerous occassions, hence the name.

FO: Rona Lace Shaw

Thank you for all your help in the past with this shawl.
I remember I was stuck on middle of the shawl where the star is. And some members helped me to clear my confusion of the pattern. Thank you!

I'm presenting you this Rona Lace Shawl.
Yarn: KnitPicks Alpaca Cloud Horizon 4 skeins
needle: US 4, crohet hook F
duration: about 9 months

This shawl is very pretty, and I was intimidated by the pattern because it was all written, but the pattern repeat of each row is not terrible.

I had to block the edging separately because I wanted the edging to open rather than have that sharp triangular shape.

This is the first shawl finished in 2008. I hope I can finish as many shawls or projects as I can. Because there are so many beautiful patterns out there.

Almost finished...

...but not yet. It has been waiting for a couple of weeks for the edge of the v-neck and I have been busy doing other things. Definitely this weeked. The pattern is from Mani di Fata and the wool is Stop Reina. More in my blog.

Garden Party shawl

I actually finished this shawl in January, but my test knitters (hi Angelika!) only just finished with me, and let me release the pattern today. It's a triangular shawl, but it's knit differently than normal. It starts with a motif that goes up the center to the top, is knit down one side, then the other, joined, enlarged, and finally an applied border is added.

sotsii clue 1- wip

Finished clue 1 and to keep up with the group, need to finish 2 & 3, so far am now on row 55 of clue 2.

A beginner knitter, and beginning to like lace knitting , my stitch is when doing the ssk or s1kipsso... it's very relaxing...

Blue Curacao shawl (in white)

It's crocheted, but it's still lace. :)

This is the Blue Curacao shawl from Doris Chan's Amazing Crochet Lace book. Instead of using the suggested yarn, I used Soft Lux from Rowan Classic Yarns in white. It has a gold metallic strand that doesn't show well in the picture.

I also added beads at the scalloped edges to give it a bit more weight. It drapes really nicely and because of the way increases are added at the shoulders, it stays in place while wearing without need for a pin (unless it's windy, that is).

Icarus: The Magic of Blocking!!!

I definitely loved this project, and can't wait to take post-blocking photos! I knew that once I'd gotten the chance to block this shawl, it would drastically different. However, I think I knew that on a purely intellectual level. Once I got Icarus all pinned out, I was quite shocked at the difference. (Just like I am every time I block lace! I really should remember how cool this process is!)
