Stork's Nest Scarf
This is the Stork's Nest Scarf by Nancy Bush, which appeared in the January/February 2008 issue of PieceWork. I used Zephyr and knit a couple of extra repeats to make the scarf longer. Even so, mine came out only 51 inches long (the one in PieceWork was 70 inches long, but it was knit with cashmere).
The pattern opens up beautifully after blocking. Here is a before blocking shot:
When you block a piece like this, you realize once again why you knit lace!

WOW. Absolutely beautiful. Yes every time I blocked shawl projects, it keeps reminding me why I knit lace.
