*le sigh*

Here's my shawl so far...

Walk for your life!

The sky is falling!

I gotta say... I'm not elated about it... I don't think I'll have enough yarn and look how its striping!! ):

*sobs*

It was my first big yarn purchase, like... realy fibers and top dollar, drove an hour away to get it... I just hate that I hate it!

Should I keep going? It's supposed to look like this...

I know, not traditional lace, but lacey. And frustrating!!

I like the striping! Is that a Noro yarn?

Maybe give the shawl a gentle blocking on the needle to see how it softens and opens up before you toss it.

BTW I think it's lovely.

Maybe you should lay it a side for awhile and do something else. Then in a few days look at it again and if you still don't really like it then frog it.
I think it looks great, but I'm not the one wearing it in the end!
Maybe there is another pattern you would like to do with this yarn or you could return the unused yarn...
It would be more dissatisfying for you to end up with an expensive shawl your never going to wear.
I had(have) a similar problem with the first sweater I ever started to make. The yarn was on sale(still a lot money for a student like me!) and since there wasn't enough of the color I originally wanted to make, I just took a dark green army like tone... What shall I say, it still lies in a plastic bag, half-finished.
