WIP's and New Member

Hi everyone, I found the link from the Lacevember site and just joined up. Lacevember has gotten be totally addicted to lace knitting. I'm glad to have found ya'll here. I have two lace projects OTN right now.

Kimono Shawl from the book "Folk Shawls" by Cheryl Oberle. Knitting with KnitPicks Shadow and KnitPicks Options needles, US#4 circs. I've completed 19 repeats of 25, but this inprogress pic was taken at around 12 repeats.



This is the Solace Shawl, pattern is available HERE. Yarn is from Elann.com and is worsted weight Peruvian Highland in Dusty Rose. US#7 circulars, Knitpicks options needles. This is a lovely pattern and works up fast. This pic is after 7 repeats.

Forest Canopy Shawl

I have finished my first ever lace shawl, and am totally in love with it - shame its not for me. It is a christmas present for my mum. It is the Forest Canopy Shawl, knit with Lorna's Lace Shepherd sock in Blackwatch using 4.5mm Addi bamboo circs. I used approx 1 1/2 skeins of the yarn and will be using the rest to make a pouch for it to be kept in.


I love this pattern and it is great for a begininer and I will defintely be making another of these for myself as well as having my eye on the Shetland Triangle and the Swallotail Shawl.
I am really pleased with this.

Swallowtail Shawl!

To celebrate being free of holiday and craft fair preparations, I knit up the Swallowtail Shawl. She was done in just over a weeks time :) and most of the knitting was probably concentrated in to one day and a couple of evenings.

I have been trying to figure out different ways to wear triangular shawls, and I have some suggestions listed on my site - I went on that quest because I love knitting lace, but never wear it - mostly because I have no idea how to LOL

Here is a Shetland Triangle shawl, it's a popular shawl for a good reason!

Easy pattern, knits quickly and you get a fantastic end product!

I enjoyed knitting this shawl quite a lot. I think it's a really good beginner pattern.

Evelyn Clark's Swallowtail Shawl

I just finished Evelyn Clark's Swallowtail Shawl. This was my endeavor for Lacevember. With only a few days left in the month, I am proud to say that it is finally completed.

I did need to alter the edging just a tad, since I used yarn that I had in my stash, and only had a limited amount. Even with the changes, I think it came out pretty darn good. Lace continues to awe me as it undergoes the blocking metamorphosis from a blob of nothingness into the most beautiful piece of handiwork. It never ceases to amaze me.

A Shawl for the Running Bunny's Birthday

I gave Running Bunny Dorothy her Birthday Shawl yesterday, and she loved it! Without further ado, I present it to you. I really love how lace looks on her. After much diving through my stash and searching for patterns, I think I did pretty well -- even if I forgot to measure the final size of the shawl). ;)

Have I told you lately that I love Lace.....

I finished my Shetland Triangle Shawl without tears.


The pattern was nicely straight forward and of course the Debbie Bliss yarn made it very very pleasant.


It started to rain for 4 days the second that I dunked it in it's bath to soak and the blocking was a magical process that I wanted to be finished as soon as I started to pin the shawl out.


The finished shawl is so lovely.

I can't imagine why I haven't done lace before. Luckily for me the hot weather hasn't really kicked in yet so I have been able to wear it out once before it gets bundled up with all the other winter clothes.


Now I am hunting around for my next project but I think I will go for a rectangular pattern this time.

newbie and WIP Forest Path Stole

Hi everybody, I'm a newbie.

I've been working on this Forest Path Stole from Interweave Knits Summer 2001. Right now I'm on the 14th tier. 9 more tiers to go.

The yarn I'm using is KnitPicks Shadow in Oregon Coast color.

Hello all,

I am new to the group and I finished my very first lace project/shawl today. It's the Swallowtail Shawl from the Fall 2006 Interweave Knits (more photographs and verbage here). It was such a fun knit, I highly recommend it!

I think my next lace shawl will be the Shetland Triangle Shawl from Wrap Style. I will be knitting it for myself and I am pretty excited about the whole thing! I am loving everyone's lace pictures, thank you for the inspiration!
