Newbie!

Hi, I'm a newbie to lace knitting and have recently cast on to make my first lace shawl. I am knitting the Forest Canopy Shawl using Lorna'a Laces Shepherd Sock in Blackwatch. I was quite apprehensive about such an ambitious project but am really enjoying it.
Here is my progress so far...

Adamas

After a good blocking at home...



...I brought my new Adamas shawl, named after the Greek work for diamond, with me to Tucson for its coming-out party. What incredible surroundings for this lovely design!

Two Shawls Finished!

Tons more to go! I finished 2 shawls for in time for September 30th, and I wanted to share them with you. The first is "Icarus" from IK Spring 2006 by Miriam Felton; the second is the "Children of the Lir Stole" from Traditional Knitted Lace by Martha Waterman.

Two Lace Shawls

Hi Everyone,
I have two lace shawls in progress in various stages, so thought I would share what I have so far. The first shawl is The Wendy's Fir Cone Wrap in Handmaiden Sea Silk, Woodland colorway. I have included a picture of this shawl because it is much further along. I have to say I absolutely love working with this yarn. It is just yummy, with excellent hand and drape. And the colorways are gorgeous. The pattern is easy to memorize and going along smoothly.
The second shawl is Miriam Felton's Seraphim, which I just started yesterday. No picture yet. I need to get further along on this so the pattern shows up better. I am using Jagger Spun Maine Line 2/8 Wool, which is a fingering weight, in Bottle Green. This is lovely yarn to knit with, as well. Now it's a fight to see which one I work on.
Love seeing everyone else's work. It's all so inspiring!

I have finally cast on

I am using 2/20 wool and size six needles. It's not much progress yet, but this WILL end up being a lace stole!

A fresh finish off and a new start

I just finished the Swallowtail shawl yesterday. It was such a fast knit and fun to do. There's a bigger pic of it on my blog. And I've started on another lace shawl, this one, that I'll get a photo of soon.

Estonian Garden Wrap

I just finished Evelyn Clark's Estonian Garden Wrap. This was lovingly made with a very special International Scarf Exchange Pal in mind. She lives in a warmer climate, so it is made using cotton rather than the customary yarn. I am so hoping that she will cherish, and accept in the spirit that it was knitted.
